My Maverick XLT chimes every single time I increase speed through 73 mph. It's NOT MyKey related (ie there are not MyKeys associated with the vehicle). I have deleted all speed reminders and such.

This happens regardless of local speed limit sign postings.

I cannot figure out why it is doing this. Wondering if anyone experienced the same and what the cause was.

It did it before I added TSR but went back in Forscan and added TSR, removed all the speed limit warnings and this still did not help it.

Just a WAG here (Wild A** Guess), as I am still learning mine, but I noticed in one of the screens on the touch display, I could activate or deny information about the vehicle, including the speed, being sent to Ford/Information gathering company. (mine is OFF!)
The chime may be a warning that you are over the NSL. (National Speed Limit)
I would have to ask if others have noticed this, with that option on or off?

That's interesting. I eliminated the seatbelt chimes and IIRC one of the things you do is trick the vehicle to think it's in Europe I believe.

Gives me something to look at, at least.

Just curious, what is the National Speed Limit? Haven't heard of anything like That since we were all forced to drive 55 mph.

There is no national speed limit. The speed limits are set in the individual state or local authority

National speed limit was signed into Law on January 2nd, 1974 by President Nixon in response to OPEC to decrease demand for foreign oil in the United States.
It WAS Repealed on November 28, 1995 by Congress.
That said, in the American Auto industry, 70mph is the speed by which highway Speed, Performance and NVH are tested.
So you are correct Mikeske, there no longer is a National Speed Limit, and I was incorrect in stating there still was. But, the 70 MPH limit is considered by most states, with exceptions, to be the maximum speed.
(for more information visit: National Speed limit ) I don't know about you guys, but I remember this happening.

Now after all this discussion about speed limits, lets get back to trying to fix the original posters issue?

On some vehicles, there is a snow tire setting which allows a user-input max speed warning. My wife's Bronco Sport has that, I haven't researched the Maverick yet.

Made me think of the traffic sign recognition post where Chimes Menu could be enabled.

Audible warning enabled when you go over the posted speed or set threshold.
Main post will be updated accordingly.

In the OP'S first post.
They stated, that the chime was happening before they enabled the sign recognition and after they disable it.

Too much of an opportunity for ME to screw something up.
This is why I will probably never play around with ForSCAN.

Yep, I checked that. I did not have TSR enabled at the time however DID enable it, then made sure that box was not checked.

I'm resetting my Forscan data using As Built stuff now and will see if it does it then.

You're not wrong, you don't know the full effect of what you edit, but I will admit it's been fun to play around, and also been nice to remove all sorts of stuff like chimes and seat belt reminders that I don't really need. I also added ACC/lane centering which was nice, and even if I can't figure this out, so worth it lol.

@EONR24

This is what it is I believe.

I've updated my IPC to factory as built and added back in my lane keep, lane centering/ACC, TSR, and disabled all door/key chimes and I get no chime @ 73 mph.

So, it appears the trigger is somewhere in IPC 720-13-01, 720-13-02, 720-14-01, or 720-14-02 which is the disabling of seatbelt menu/chimes.

I had them zero'd out to get rid of all seatbelt menus and chimes, but it appears this did something. I'll investigate it later tonight.

OK went through and updated everything to my original codings, including zero'ing out the 720-13 and 720-14 blocks.

Seatbelt menu/chimes are gone and so is the 73 mph chime. I'm wondering now if the software recall updating I did a few months ago messed with the settings.

But, silence at last!
