Well, what's the cliche? "YMMV".
I just shared my experience. Maybe your issue has a different cause, like a weak signal or something.

Five bars of 5G in the driveway; I live in the city.

That’s a terrible reason anyway. Imagine going the subway for an hour and your phone just stopped working completely for three days.

Just noticed - on the Location screen.
It reports the time since that last Location was updated.

Currently - mine says 5 hrs ago.

Pressing refresh didn't actually go and update it, I'm guessing the app is assuming the Ford servers last data upload was as good as it gets. No need actually get more from truck.

So mine still reports 5 hrs ago on location refresh.
Which indeed is when I parked the truck and last data was sent up.

You might notice that extra bit of info on further tests, or when you see it stuck on old data.
Just tried this. It was showing my home address, "8 hrs ago" (when I came back and parked it for the night). Hit refresh, and it seemingly did nothing. Then I closed the Location screen and reopened, and it shows "Now". So it does refresh. For me at least.

That wouldn't be good 🤭 But bugs do exist. Sometimes very strange bugs. I am not saying that's necessarily the case here, maybe a coincidence. I'll prove or disprove my theory next time this happens. Again, the same issue might have different causes.

To add another anecdotal data point to the discussion. My 2025 Lariat Hybrid got "stuck" in FordPass yesterday for the 1st time at the hotel we stayed at last night, about 300 miles away. No amount of refreshing the location would have any effect, so I decided to try pulling the 11/12 fuse set. I had the fuse out for several minutes, mostly because I dropped it into the abyss below the fuse panel and it took me a few minutes to figure out that it was not a black hole and I just needed to wiggle that foam block around enough for the fuse to make it's way down to the floor under the carpet where I could fish it out. When I replace the fuse and checked FordPass, the Location was still wrong, but as soon as I refreshed it again, the location (and all the other data) updated like it normally does.
TLDR: For me it was the fuse 11/12 removed for about 5 minutes, followed by a location refresh and I'm back online until the next time it gets "stuck"

A software update became available over the weekend for the 2025 models that updated the telematics module. It is supposed to resolve the prolonged outage/sync issues. I'd suggest to everyone with a 2025 that they perform a software update.

I’m curious, are you talking about an OTA software update, or something involving a Mongoose cable and an FDRS subscription?
Based on my experience with other Ford products that receive OTA updates, not everyone gets the update, just because it exists. Many people in other Sync4 vehicles wait months for their VIN to hit the lotto and get an OTA update queued up for their car. I’ve only had my 2025 for about 3 weeks, but it appears that it has never received an OTA update, and it always says there are no updates available, which is very typical of other Sync4 based Fords I have experience with.

When was your truck built? I’m wondering if this is something that was maybe already rolled into my truck at production, or if you hit the OTA lotto this week and I’m just one of thousands in the queue waiting for my number to get called 🤔

Built mid-December.

About the same as mine.
I can check my pessimistic attitude though, after going out to my truck to check for an update (which it said there was not) I came back in the house, and within 20 minutes, I see on FordPass that it did just install the same update that you got 🤪

Just wanted to add to this post, was having the same issues in my 2025 Lobo and turns out it was the fuse that was blown (fuse 11 I believe, for telematics) replaced and my GPS and remote app started working again
