I have noted that one of my rear shock boots has a propensity to slide down as others here have discussed. Will this help keep it in place or at least protect the shaft from collecting debris that could shorten the shocks life?

It can protect the shock absorber from debris, sand, and other interference, thereby extending its life.

Hi all,

I bought a set of these and they are "okay". There are no installation instructions, but pretty straight forward. First need to determine which one goes where. Then the covers have 4 holes in them but my 2023 XLT Hybrid only has 3 fasteners available. They come with 3 large head short fasteners and 7 (?) small head longer fasteners. The large head fasteners are too short so I used 6 of the longer small fasteners to attach the covers. The trim removal tool provided is handy, I didn't have to go find mine. It took all of about 15 minutes to install them (including breaking into the Amazon box). Note that for the DS the emergency gas filler lid release (that green thing) will need to be relocated.

Hello,
We would like to confirm with you that the hybrid model only has 3 hole positions? Because our car is fuel powered and has 4 holes. Can you confirm if there will be a layer of cloth in this area, and if the position of this cloth is lifted, there will be no holes? We look forward to your reply! If it is confirmed, we may need to use your photo to create a description and place it on Amazon. Would you mind?

I would agree with Bert about the fasteners. Went to a Maverick showoff and people who installed these all agreed. All in all it was just a very slight issue about the fasteners as all of them absolutely loved the product. Personally I do not have them yet. They are in my cart though, lol.

Maxzina,

Looks like RyuRonin1977 has provided some nice pictures of the 3 OEM fastener locations. From those photos it seems like his 2025 EcoBoost truck looks the same as my 2023 hybrid. The area where your cover has the 4th hole is just the plastic fender liner with sheet metal behind it, same on both sides of the truck.
You have my permission to use the photo as needed.

2024 XLT Ecoboost has (3) holes also - though there is a slot in the metal behind the plastic (as seen in pics in post above) - but not sure fasteners will reach that depth. I was going to put mine on (recvd today) but alas life got in the way ;)

Cheers
