I see a lot of ‘24’s at discounted pricing in my area. Do the ‘24’s have axle issues , or was that fixed ? The ‘25’s are improved in various ways , so would it be better to spend more and get a ‘25 ?

There has been issues, yes. They're a warranteed part though. Whether it's worth it to potentially deal with that in a discounted truck or spend more for a 25 is your call.

2024s do not have the upgraded axles installed from the factory.

2024s will fail (hopefully under warranty) and you'll need to have them replaced with the upgraded axles at that time.

Just buy a 2025.

So, you're calling for 100% of 2024 OEM axles to fail?

Hybrids? I wouldn’t touch a 22-24 with their axle issues and deep sleep cheap flooded cell 12v.

There is a design defect with the 22-24 axles. They are too short and back out, stripping the splines.

Knowing there is inherently a design flaw that Ford has addressed with an upgraded cv axle for replacements and the 2025s -

I wouldn’t buy a 2024 knowing what we know now. I would not buy a used 22-24 hybrid either. It’s a personal choice. Everyone does what they feel is best for them.

Everything mechanical fails eventually. The real trouble is that a failure will happen at the most inconvenient time. Usually the day after the warranty expires. A recall is needed, but probably won't happen.

I've talked to a few with high mileage on their 2023's and 24's, No problems at all.
The sky is NOT falling.

Yes it is for 22-24 hybrid cv axles. There is a design defect. It’s too short and it backs out of the collar and that’s when failure occurs.

Hybrids also had an entirely different design than EcoBoost and Tremor.

Those CV axles are going to fail.

No the sky is not falling.
But I think you are lying.
All of the 22 through 24’s have the same axle. And they will all fail.
It’s not like some were made different than Others.

any screen dumps or pics - websites on the discounted 24 prices OP ?

;)First, I’d like to say thanks for the advice to all. I’m in southern Ontario , Canada.
There’s a number of dealers showing $1500 -$2500 off on ‘24 XL & XLT’s. And today , Ford Canada announced 1.9% for 84 months. And I’m getting lots of emails from dealers offering to do better than their advertised pricing.
‘25’s are getting discounted too $1000+ at some dealers. Interest on them is 5.99%/84months, 4.99%/72.

Cheers

The hybrid axles might fail. If they fail under warranty, they get replaced. If you are outside of warranty you will have to pay.
The Ecoboost engines also have a shown a tendency to blow up. If they blow up under warranty, they get replaced. If you are outside of warranty, you will have to pay.
If you buy a 25 maybe you will find some other failing apart from the ugly front end. Your choice. They are all mass-produced items and are as prone to failure as any other thing.

Yep you can certainly choose to ignore the fact that for 2025 Ford has addressed the failing CV axles in hybrids, the cheap flooded cell batteries in hybrids, a new HF55 transmission with revised motors in the hybrids, a new 2.0 ecoboost with port and direct injection, and sync 4 all around to alleviate the god awful connected touch radio.

just ignore all that.

“They are all mass-produced items and are as prone to failure as any other thing.”
And no more prone to failure than any other thing.
Oh so many vehicles have axles fall out and so so many blow up these days.
I see them lined up at dealers by the dozens awaiting repairs and hundreds more burned out shells along side of the nations highways it’s so terrible.

Yet up here these Mavericks, so many on our roads mostly Mavbrids/Hybrids all being driven without problems year after year.
Worry warts will always think the sky is falling.
I cannot imagine spending my life in that state of mind.
Or spending my hard earned money on a vehicle I had so little confidence in.

As for the 2025’s and what ever mods, improvements Ford made.
Only time will tell if the sky is really falling.

But I seriously doubt it.

LOL you were just in another thread saying you’ll only do oil changes through Ford and Motorcraft oil because if you ever have a problem you know it’s covered.

Overpaying for a service that uses inferior products to maintain a warranty in the event of an issue is the definition of a worry wort.
