According to the manual, the procedure for resetting oil life is as follows:

Ford Maverick MY2025 2.0 Eco Boost Oil Life Reset 1743195310446-6

I held that OK button for about a minute.. How freakin long do you have to hold it??

Hmmm... I must be missing something. I did it with the ignition on, not running. Just navigated to the right screen and held the OK button down on the right side of the steering wheel.

Went to the dealer this week for this issue. They told me they would need to have my truck for the day and that I'd need to pay for diagnostic since I changed the oil myself.

Since the dealership can't help, I used Forscan to disable the Oil Change Reminder. I believe I'm capable of remembering to change the oil every 10k.

What a douche bag dealer! Was it the selling dealer?

I don't have FORSCAN so just asking but couldn't you have reset it with FORSCAN ?
No. there's no function for that. That would have been nice though.

It is common for any dealership of any brand to say upfront there could be a diagnostic charge to determine if it is a warranty issue or not. If it turns out to be warranty, no charge. There is nothing you did changing the oil to stop the software from resetting. That being said if you later take it in for a warranty claim and they see you disable the Oil Life Monitor they COULD deny the warranty repair because you altered the vehicle diagnostics.

Well, it won't be a concern as I'll not be taking it back to them for anything..

Sorry the dealer flaked out, but you are obviously missing a button-press or something somewhere. If it were me, before I used the Forscan sledgehammer, I would’ve tried to post a video here (or elsewhere) of what you’re doing so people can help troubleshoot.

I haven’t looked, but eventually maybe there will be a video on YouTube showing that part of the DIY oil change process so you can compare what you were doing.

With turbocharged engines, you shouldn't do the factory recommended interval.

You should change the oil every 5,000 miles or every six months. Whichever comes first.

Regardless of the blowback you'll get in this Forum, I would too.

And, to get back on Topic, The oil reset worked fine for me on my Lobo. You'll see an animation on the display as it resets. its 5s or less for the 'hold'. Easiest/quickest oil life reset I've ever done.

I had the dealer change oil at 1,000 miles. And they didn't reset the oil life...giving me great confidence in their ability, and making me wonder what other steps were skipped/missed under the vehicle.

Your experience with a dealer sounds about par, charge for any/everything, avoid fixing as much as possible.
The dome light switch on my new 2025 still doesn't work to turn OFF my Dome lights.
I'll probably be better off repairing it myself than letting some new kid rip apart my truck and mash it back together ham-fisted in a rush with dirty hands.

Give a company 35k+ for a new vehicle and a 50 cent switch doesn't work properly..and can't be repaired without a PHD and Doctorates degree, Welcome to today! Whom I foolin', its likely a 3 cent switch in this vehicle.
