I just got my '25 Maverick this week, and already I've had a passenger in the back seat accidentally insert the seatbelt into the wrong receiver. (They inserted it into the receiver for the middle back seat, rather than for the right-side.)

This triggered a full-screen "Seatbelt Warning" that did not appear to be dismissible (unlike the initial seatbelt screen when the truck is started). The only way I could find to get rid of the screen was to turn the truck off and on again, even shifting into Drive did not get rid of it.

Am I missing something obvious? Will it go away by itself once the vehicle starts moving or after a period of time? Or do I just have to turn the truck off and back on again if this happens.

This is not the same screen as the reminder when you first start the vehicle, it does not dismiss via the OK button. I will post a picture when I get home.

I may be wrong, but the easiest way to get that warning screen to go away is to plug the seatbelt into the correct receiver. From the drivers standpoint, it is a pretty easy solution to execute.

It's the classic "Doc, it hurts when I do this", "Then stop doing that" moment tbh.

This doesn't appear to work, it won't dismiss the warning unless the middle seatbelt is buckled again; i.e. you must take the middle seatbelt and buckle it even if no-one is sitting there. Which is just a bit annoying to explain.

It's a known Maverick issue. I'd just disable the alert on the problem receiver. Instructions are in the manual and in this forum.

That does seem strange and annoying.

many years ago, at my physical, I told him that I got headaches from white, not red, wine, in relatively small quantities.

"Oh, we'e seen that before. Just don't drink those."

😱

uhh, gret, I've got Groucho's quack!

After reading about how commonly this happens, I 3D printed a clip that goes in the middle seatbelt receiver that blocks the passenger from accidentally trying to buckle in there.

That’s a great idea, were you able to find specs online or did you have to CAD them yourself?

You can order through your dealer FREE seat belt extenders. You can get 5 for the maverick. Plug them in and viola; no chimes

Have them quickly open and close the door. That clears the message if they accidentally put it in the wrong receiver because the truck assumes the person "got out."

THIS... THUS... AND THIS.

Stops the annoyed seat belt issues when you don't have children.

Got children.. DON'T DO THIS!!!
Correct unless you want the center one to never ever get buckled. Fold it under the rear seat
I do not have Children. BUT if I did I would only use it for the center rear seat and hide the buckle.
