The salesman said not to order the tonneau from Ford for two reasons. One may delay build and secondly should be able to get one later at a better price. Do appreciate these threads.

Thank You, Thank You for the information on the Extang cover from Real Truck. I have been checking the Extang web site every day and Extang still lists the Trifold Signature 94735 series as coming soon and at $459.00. I called Real Truck and the Alex I needed to talk with had gone home but the Alex I talked with talked to his boss and they gave me the price of $365.33. With tax it was $390.90 a lot of money saved. They had 4 in stock when I called and will ship it out 11/16 FedEx ground at their expense. My truck shipped out 10/21 and I needed to get one now since it should arrive any day.

I basically want exactly what the santa cruz has but I've only seen one product that was comparable and it sits way above the bed.
I was looking for that too. The one the SC has is pretty slick but its built that way from the factory so idk if we'll ever see one as good for the Maverick. I'm keeping my eyes peeled though.

Take a close look at a Cruz bed, when it is retracted it is basically just a mini toolbox, could definitely get something like that aftermarket.

I know the signature has a much better material but what is the difference between the cheap base version posted by the OP and the 2.0 version?

Took the same advice from these forums. Ordered without tonneau, will do 3rd party down the road. I'm interested in soft rollup and Ford's option was nearly $600, while Truxport starts at $300.

Yes it shipped out the next day FedEx ground and is scheduled to arrive Friday. Extang sells 4 different Soft Trifold Covers, The Signature Series with the canvas, 94735, the Trifecta 2.0 92735 the E-Series the only difference between the 2 is one has a smooth vinyl and the other a rough grain and the ALX 90735 has a different latch on the rear of the bed. When I ordered the 94735 they had 4 in stock and with my sale they had 3 remaining. Is the 94735 the one you are waiting on?

yes, EXT-94735 - Extang Trifecta Signature 2.0. when i called because of no shipping notice she said jan. 5th. the call took 45min., was put on hold 8 times, mentioned your post and the "rapid ship" on the 94735 web page but no joy. they did change the web page after i hung up. it will probably come in the same time as my truck anyway.

Thanks to this forum I ordered the signature version through Alex@realtruck for 365 and it was shipped right away. It will arrive on the 20th. Thanks everyone and thank you Alex!
As I saw the initial post with the vinyl version, I got excited but the one which OP posted is the cheapest version and has the shorter warranty. I dont know what the difference between that one and the 2.0 version is but I know I really like the material of the signature version. I think the signature version for just 65 dollars more is a no brainer.

Chatted with RealTruck and when asking about snow weight, the said that most soft covers only support from 150 to 200lbs. Saw some that people indicated that support up to 350lbs. They recommended the Extang® - Solid Fold 2.0™ Hard Folding Tonneau Cover more details on - https://www.carid.com/2022-ford-mav...-0-hard-folding-tonneau-cover-4415022168.html

They said it will support 600lbs and what I really like is how easy it will be to install and take off with no tools and 2 toggle bolts at the cab end and two spring loaded bolts in the rear. They will give a military discount, which looks like 10% of for $827, which is over $500 more than the soft, but do have snow to consider and is easy on and off.

However some reviews say the spring bolts in the back do not keep a tight seal. Does anyone have experience with this hard tri-fold. Did a rough snow weight of a heavy snow at 20lbs per cubic foot would be around 400lbs using rough 4.5 by 4.5 or 20 square feet of surface area. Or over 300lbs of the Gator cover. At 15lbs per square foot would be around 300 lbs. so think a larger storm would be too much for the Gator. Hence looks like the Extang even if the spring bolts are not tight. Seems for the money they are asking, they should be but don't know.

Update: Bought the Extang solid 2.0 from tonneaucover and put the details in another thread. Totaled with free shipping and no tax $794.99

Can you drive with this type of tonneau cover with the tailgate end fold open? Say if I have an item that sticks with the tailgate closed like a piece of wood. Can I latch that first fold or do I have to fully open it?

My guess is not recommended as there is no tie down clip. However the wood, depending on how much, should be able to hang out with the tailgate in either the level to the top of the wheel well or the one not shown much where like the level for plywood but then loop the cable around the normal pin as well and the cover fully closed.
