I really wonder how some dealers are delivering a stop sale vehicle. Things that make you go hmmmm.
But, congrats on your new truck. I'm one of those still waiting.

I
Excellent choice by you as well! I love how your wheels look! Same Atlas Blue Metallic?
I found those rims on offer up. They came off a bronco sport. I only had to pay $250 and they were mounted with the same Continentals that come stock on Mavericks, still had good tread.

I'll probably dip them black, since it's such a pain to keep the brake dust cleaned off...

Yes, same Atlas blue paint-

That is VERY concerning…. and without saying anything about it to me either? Even a mention of “oh, just so you know…” would have been nice. I might take it up with them.

I do have Fordpass, and was able to look it up and the backup camera is the only issue showing. They let me have it, without even mentioning the recall. I’m still used to my SUV without a backup camera, so I still like to look back when in reverse. As far as I know Ford is still working on a remedy for it. Haven’t experienced any freezing in my camera that I’ve noticed, hopefully they’re able to fix it soon. I would have been peeved if I put money down on it and they told me I couldn’t take it.
Me too. I think I got one of the last ones off the lot in my area and I'm glad I didn't have to wait. I'm loving the ride and the MPG!

Not legally.

OP: The recall fix isn't done on your truck yet, because it's not available yet. Glad you got your truck, but they were not supposed to sell it to you.
I think it goes by state? I looked it up and they said it’s not “entirely illegal” and I’m sure the dealership has good ways to get out of legal loopholes.

If you are happy with your truck and all your paperwork is in order you might want to let sleeping dogs lie - that is what I am doing. Now if I back into somebody and there is enough damage I might point fingers back at the dealer.

I've got the issue on my 23.

It malfunctions at times, but always starts working again.

No biggie, since I look around when backing up, use my mirrors, and only glance into the back up camera display. Just to make sure no midgets are camping right behind me...

It's a federal mandate. The dealer can be fine up to $27,000 per vehicle if they are caught selling a vehicle with a stop sale order. I hope you have the title, because otherwise you could have some issues down the road. Just last week another person who recently bought one from a dealership had the same issue. When they went to get something done, Ford said they had no idea, and the vehicle was not showing as sold. No warranty support.

You seem to know a lot about it-

Maybe you can answer my question of why it's such a huge safety concern that Ford can't sell 24 Mavericks, but it's fine for everyone who's already on the road to motor on?

The difference is the type of order issued by the federal agency. They can issue, do not drive orders to existing owners, but typically that is only for mechanical issues that could put the owner and public in danger. As to why this is just a stop sale, and not a do not drive, as assume they have a safety level threshold for that. Given that the side and review mirrors are still usable, I assume they don't feel that a do not do not drive order to existing owners is required.

On the other hand, the stop sale order makes sense. If they allow a vehicle to be sold with a mandated safety feature not working then the government and manufacture are open to lawsuits in the event that it leads to injury or death. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know the ins and outs of these things.

Thanks for the reply-

I personally think it's a matter of over regulation, it's costing Ford a lot of $$$...

Is the owner of Ford your best friend? Who cares if it costs Ford money, if they did it right in the first place it wouldn't be an issue. They are their own worst enemy.
