If you all remember, Ford did a recall regarding updating the bad bulb hyperflash warning system that rendered the LasFit LEDs on the Lariat hybrids virtually incompatible. I have yet to hear from LasFit about a working replacement. I still would like to replace the OEM incans with LEDs that will work. Was wondering if anyone has come across a reliable LED replacement. I know the hyperflash can be turned off with ForScan, but is there an LED that doesn't require that modification?

I am stopped using the last version of Lasfit. They would sometimes hyper flash when first put on turn signal and then stop hyperflashing. That did not bother me so much but then twice I had cars pull up next to me and tell me the brake lights were not working. That is a big problem. Wonder if all the Mavs that were rear ended were using Lasfits?
I would also like to know of a good led for the brake lights.

I am a bit disappointed with the Lasfits on the back of the truck.

While I like the much brighter running/brake lights, the first set I purchased all burned out in about 13-14 months of initial installation. To their credit, LasFit did replace all 4 without charging me even though they were no longer under warranty. Unfortunately, I just noticed that the first of the second set of 4 is now burned out.

I may go back to the original factory bulbs (which I saved) or try the Sylvania Zevos ( Amazon.com: SYLVANIA - 3157 ZEVO LED Red Bulb - Bright LED Bulb, Ideal for Stop and Tail Lights (Contains 2 Bulbs) : Automotive ) that another MTC member recommended.

Still have the hyperflash issue though if that recall was done.,

I stopped using Lasfit on my 22 because they kept burning out. I haven't bought LED bulbs for my 25 yet but if I do it will either be Morimoto or GTR bulbs.

I highly recommend the Sylvania Zevo 3157R. They are very well heatsinked and thus built to last. You can use resistors to eliminate the hyperflash, but using Forscan is really the best way to do it.

At least part of the problem with LEDs is heat. If you build a resistor into the bulb, it's going to get very hot and likely shorten it's life ie. Lasfit. Best bet is using Forscan to disable the outage and then just pick whichever bulbs you want. I like Diode Dynamics.

So are you saying that with any of the above, Sylvania Zevo, Diode Dynamics, Morimoto or GTR, I will still have the hyperflash unless I use Forscan? I do not have or would know how to use Forscan.

That is correct.

You can download a trial version of Forscan (fully functioning) and purchase a $40 cable to use it. It's literally some dropdown menus to disable the hyperflash. You can also make some other changes if you want. There are tutorials and YouTube videos and plenty of threads on how to do it. Maybe there's even someone in your area that will do it for you? It literally takes about 3 minutes to do.

Here is a picture of the tail light bulbs on the 25 Lariat.

You must do one or the other. Either you have to add resistance to the circuit , or you have to disable the bulb outage alert in Forscan. If you go the resistance route, I suggest you use resistors that are external to the LED module.

If you use Forscan, you take advantage of the efficiency of LEDs. If you use a resistor, or an LED module with a built-in resistor, you will not.

I ordered the Morimoto bulbs. I'll report back when I install them.

My front turn signal Lasfits and backup (I think) Lasfits continue to work fine but the rear Lasfits all quit. Went back to using the stock bulbs. Might get the hitch light that ties into the brake and running lights to boost the rear end lighting.
