Has anyone heard about the possibility of replacing the solid rear glass in a 2025 XLT with one from an earlier model year that has the sliding window?

no, but I bet that actually could be done. clever thought.Has anyone heard about the possibility of replacing the solid rear glass in a 2025 XLT with one from an earlier model year that has the sliding window?
For the extra money I'd say go with the power option. The switching electrical is pretty straighforward; one could do it with a double-pole double-throw (DPDT) switch not unlike a regular window switch (versus the relays the OE implementation utilizes).I recall reading on here about an aftermarket rear slider that came out last year, was much less than the OEM sliding rear window, found the post

It was only a 150.00 option on my 22 XLT FX4, anybody that didn't get it I think was foolish, and its not power but its a easy reach to open from the back door. My dog loves it, removed the middle headrest so she can have a nice view. You could check with the big auto glass companies like Safelite if they can get it and how much to install, am sure itsno, but I bet that actually could be done. clever thought.
I believe it was an option on 22-23 XL and XLT, so it could conceivably be found searching online salvage yards, but probably you would have to buy new parts if there's nothing local.
that looks really great.Pulled the plug and just had the aftermarket back window with a manual slider installed. The glass is actually thicker than OEM, and I am loving the added versatility.

Very cool, want to do the same with my 25 XLT (possibly put a motor on it also). Do you mind sharing what the total cost was for purchase and installation?Pulled the plug and just had the aftermarket back window with a manual slider installed. there's no reason that it would conflict with warranty claims unless it's something highly unusual.Hopefully the mod doesn’t invalidate my warranty for some reason
Got it from these folks for $403 including shipping and had it installed in my driveway for $320. I kept the original glass as a backup.Very cool, want to do the same with my 25 XLT (possibly put a motor on it also). Do you mind sharing what the total cost was for purchase and installation?
Also, they do offer a powered version of this window but you would have to mount the motor behind the back seat if there is room, run a wire to the area of the front console, and install a switch someplace.Very cool, want to do the same with my 25 XLT (possibly put a motor on it also).
