I wonder but not enough to look it up- when the '22 Maverick debuted it was cheaper than the Model T. (taking into account inflation). I wonder if that's still the case with the '25?

I just never realized how many distracted drivers are out there messing with their HVAC instead of focusing on the road!

Set it. Forget it.

You all probably worse than those texting while driving!
In Virginia where the weather has multiple personality disorder, there is no such thing as set it and forget it. Not every state is as simple as Ohio, my dude.

I'm in the same boat with you. I posted a thread of my own about this. The dealer that I've been doing busines with for the last several years disappointed me big time today. They low balled my trade-in and quoted me outrageous monthly payments that were $200-300 more than what I'm paying now. Of course, their excuse is higher rates than the time I purchased my last two and the lack of incentives on Mavericks in general.

I was hoping since this new one was only $1700 more than my current one, it would translate into a similar payment but boy was I wrong! Although it's discouraging, it's kind of a blessing in disguise. The first reason being is my sales manager added two options that I had no desire for which was the 4K tow package and dealer-installed keypad. Those two options alone added an extra $1000 to the MSRP. I don't plan on towing any time soon and I use my fob or phone as my key so there's no need for a keypad in this day in age.

The second reason being I've always enjoyed the pre-facelift Mavericks anyway. It's a simplistic and honest look compared to the polarizing facelift. Although it looked phenomenal in Eruption Green, any other color on it just seemed, eh. As for the interior, it's nice to retain physical climate buttons. Although the screen integrated ones are ergonomic by being more at eye-level, I can go by feel with the physical ones. Take the rotary dials for example. The same applies for the fan speeds, heated seats, airflow, etc. Once you get to know the car you can change all this without even looking.

The fully digital gauge cluster has caused some controversy of its own. Some don't like it because it gets rid of the tach and the readouts for fuel and temp are vague and placed vertically. More reason to appreciate my '24. I have a physical tachometer and speedometer, horizontal fuel and temp gauges in a block pattern that's easier on the eyes and a center LCD screen for my digital speedometer. Everything you need to know all layed out coherently.

This won't affect value much but what I have is now a rare spec. I have a Lariat FX4 in Hot Pepper Red which you can't even order anymore. The FX4 package is only reserved for the XLT and Hot Pepper Red got discontinued for Ruby Red. I'm not crazy about the new one either. It's a traditional red rather than the copper of HPR.

Although the last five months of anticipation, constantly checking my online tracker, waiting for the quality check to clear, driving by my dealership almost everyday after it was shipped was all done for nothing, it still worked out in the end. Sure, it would've been nice to have a green car both literally and economically, the numbers just didn't add up. So, I'll simply keep what I have. Plus, this was a want more than a need and there's a huge difference. I have a perfectly nice truck that does what it should while still getting decent mpgs. The hype was nice while it lasted.

Life comes at you fast sometimes, dealers always gonna be dealing- Having a 24 HPR/FX4 should keep you happy for a few more years at least- Enjoy

Couldn't agree more. Don't get me wrong, it's a great truck. I just get bored easily and always want the next best thing which can be very straining, especially financially. The main reason was to benefit from the Hybrid efficiency since I've never had one before and with all of my city driving, I could see myself saving more money on fuel in the long-run. Oh well. I can always keep my eyes peeled at another dealership at some point.
