Hey everyone. I’m interested in possibly replacing my XLT wheels but if I do so, I want to be sure the new wheel is the same weight or lighter so it doesn’t hurt my mpg. It doesn’t look like the weights for the Maverick wheel or the Maverick tire and wheel set are listed online so I’ve created a table here where I hope people can add the weights if they happen to measure them when doing car work. I’ve created a table below of each type of Maverick’s wheel (XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, Lobo, etc). If I recall correctly, the Lariat has a 19” rim, the XL has a 17” rim and XL might be a different diameter as well - this is why I created a table.

Retrieved this list of Mavericks and wheel descriptions from the 2025 Ford Maverick Technical Specifications found here:
https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/2024/11/2025 Ford Maverick Tech Specs.pdf

Hoping people can add the wheel weights to the table below as they transition their truck tires for seasons, etc.

2025 Ford Maverick Wheel Weight and 2025 Ford Maverick Tire and Wheel Weight
StandardFactory Wheel Weight (lbs)Factory Tire and Wheel Weight (lbs)
17-in. Steel Wheel with Sparkle Silver Painted Covers (XL)27.2 lbs (from poster Snowbird below)
17-in. Carbonized Gray Painted Aluminum Wheel (XLT)
19-in. Bright Aluminum Wheel (LARIAT)
17-in. Machined-face Tarnished Dark painted Aluminum with Orange Painted Accent Pocket
(standard on Tremor)
19-in. Turbofan-styled Black Painted Aluminum (standard on Lobo)
Optional AVAILABLE EXTERIOR COLORS
17-in. Unique Ebony painted Aluminum Wheel (included in FX4 Off-Road Package on XLT)
19-in. Black Painted Aluminum (available in Black Appearance Package (available on Lobo)

Cheers.

Weights dont show
Right, I don’t think the weights are published online. I created a table of the Mavericks, their wheel descriptions, and hope people can add weights if they determine them from their tire shop, etc.

this is a good thread!

the 17s will be the same. the new 19" options are 19x7.5 and I'm curious what they weigh. it should not be long until someone replaces tires on a lariat or lobo, but then we have to hope that they take the time to weigh the bare wheel. (y)

Reading through parts of the sticky thread I found that Montana posted the 17" FX4 wheels at 23 lbs and TRUCKHEF posted the stock XLT wheel at 23.2 lbs.
Someone else said the stock XL Conti tire was 24 lbs.

I don't have any 17 or 19 weights.. However, I'll state that the Maverick 18" BAP Alloys (which are the same as the First Edition wheels with the exception of matte paint and no exposed machine surfaces) and the accompanying Michelin Primacy AS 225/60 R18 Tires weighed right at 49lbs together. (I know, I shipped 4 of them and they were weighed).

that wheel was only used on the first edition hybrid. the first edition ecoboost used the black fx4 wheel. it's officially called 18" Machined-Face Black Painted Aluminum Wheel 64B.

the wheel was also available as a $795 option on Lariat non-Tremor trucks for 22-24. I optioned it. :)

I got Sparco Terra 17X7.5 rims (24lbs) and Nokian Remedy WRG5 in 225 65 R17 (26.5 lbs) for my 23 Hybrid. I did not weigh them or my stock steel wheel/Conti set up, I am going by spec charts, but they should be less than a pound lighter. I thought it might be more.

Either way I like the look, set up, and how the tires perform.. It is hard to gauge any MPG comparison because when I put them on in Oct. the weather started to get cold.

I’m hoping the lariat 19 inch wheels are heavy so I don’t feel so bad putting the wheels I want on mine 💀 they’re unfortunately cast 20” wheels and they’re disgustingly heavy but not a bad price

Was doing some research today and until someone weighs the actual wheels this is my best guess. The ford escape 19 inch black aluminum wheels weigh 37 pounds, so figure the maverick black out package ones are pretty close. The tires for the maverick are Goodyear Wrangker HT 225/55R19 and weigh 26 pounds. So total weight wheel and tire is 63 pounds.

Confirmed for my 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4K towing, it's wearing GoodYear Wrangler HT 103H XL tires in a 225/55/R19.

Getting into the wheel and tire stuff as we come up to winter season here. It's gonna be reallllll confusing when XL tires and XL model tires are in the mix.

Anyway, interesting point. The XL tires are load rated at an inflation of 42psi, whereas non XL tires are rated at an inflation of 36psi... what this means is that a 103XL at 36 psi can only carry the load of a 99 at 36psi... but it is a much tougher more damage resistant tire.

I was hoping to find a list of all the tires on 4k tow models, be they XL, XLT Lariat eco or hyb, and variations such as FX4 and Tremor if 4k was possible on those some years. Guess this isn't it yet.

So guess I've gotta pore over the inflation load tables to make sure I get right winter combo with a smaller wheel.

Good winter tires have the lowest load rating and the softest possible sidewalls to get the tread planted on icy surfaces properly all the time. You can notice that while driving, as they feel more "squirmy" while planting the tread instead of just an edge. I don't think there is an XL-rated tire that can do that at all, as the sidewalls are far too stiff to use in real winter conditions. Also, an XL-rated tire makes the drive very hard on yourself since they don't absorb even small shocks like stones on the road at all. They may be an advantage in a mud pit or when carrying a ridiculous load way over the vehicle specs, but that's about it.
