Can someone tell me where to find a battery monitoring app like the one in the video? Does FORScan have one?Someone shared a link to this on the Bronco Sport forum. I found it very helpful and interesting so I thought I would share here as well.
He had the ignition turned on as he was explaining. Thanks @TNFurb This was very informative. On my Hybrid, if I use the jump points under the hood, there is no way to screw up charging the battery. The biggest takeaway from the video is, why is his truck pulling 18 amps while it is off?
Yes. With Forscan, you can pick the sensors you want to monitor. As an example, I have played around with a few, including the engine coolant temp, amps going into the battery, and battery state of charge. I use a wireless Bluetooth dongle in my OBDII port. Can someone tell me where to find a battery monitoring app like the one in the video? Does FORScan have one?
Thank you!!! I take delivery of my '24 Mav Lariat EB tomorrow and will be anxious to see if FORScan has been updated for MY 24 (I had read last month that it didn't yet work on 24's).Yes. The Windows version has more features, but this is nice for when I'm mobile.
I believe that folks on here got it to work with a newer version of Forscan than was available on their site. The link should be floating somewhere around here. Good luck!Thank you!!! So will adding aftermarket AGM battery screw something up in the system since it thinks it's not AGM?An important takeaway from the video is that his truck has an AGM battery. The BMS system is configured to monitor and work with an AGM battery. Most of us didn't have the AGM batteries installed during production and had regular batteries due to a supply shortage. Thus the "sleep mode" messages. Also, with the Hybrid, you can connect an overnight trickle charger to the battery (underneath the rear seat) by connecting to the positive terminal, just don't connect the trickle charger's ground to the negative terminal of the battery, just ground it elsewhere and this will allow the battery to fully charge. You can do a jump the same way. Doesn't mess up anything. Just don't ground from the battery terminal.
It should work fine. I replaced the AGM battery on m 2018 F-150, and I had no problems. So will adding aftermarket AGM battery screw something up in the system since it thinks it's not AGM?

Correct! BMS and AGM Battery is the perfect combination. It should work fine. I replaced the AGM battery on m 2018 F-150, and I had no problems.
