Hello all Just wanted to share with you the progress of my Maverick build so far.

Bought the Maverick with 6k Miles from CarMax, for 41k.

Ford Maverick ElectricSheep's '22 Lariat Maverick Rig. 2" Lift, GFC Wheels-Tires Awning. (Update Lights) 70571169625__8855015B-2C6E-4DD4-900E-42E603F3EB64.JPG

My goal is to make a 'overlanding' build that is practical enough I can still drive it comfortably every weekend.

After 3 months of ownership, I decided to buy a GFC. Although the wait time was over 3 months.

Once the GFC arrived, the up-fitter, Stellar Built installed the GFC with no problem.

While the truck was still there I had them install the Rough Country 2" Lift Strut Kit.

They didn't have any wheels available for the Maverick at the time, but were nice enough to order some Reika R30 Drifter wheels for me, and put on Nitro Nomad Grapper 245/65/R17.

Took it on a nice camping trip to make sure everything was good with the Camper, I enjoyed it, took it on some full width fire roads and it did great. (Above)

Knew I wanted to get a awning on it, I condsidered a 270 degree awning, but ultimately went with the ARB Touring awning, due to it having a hard case that its stored in. (Below)

This is how it sits now, I'll be sure to update on the next major progress, it will a switch pro install, and quite a few lights for the exterior.

That's one helluva setup 👍🏻.

I want to do something similar with my Lariat. I already purchased the wheels & tires.

The only thing I want to do differently is the lift. I prefer doing a 1 - 1.25 inch lift. The reason is because the rear wheels looks off-center in the wheel well with anything more than 1.25 inches.

Anyways, keep us updated on the progress.

I would've bought on of these if the bed was 6-10" wider. 50" mattress is no good for us. I have wide shoulders. Looks great on the truck though.

Looking great! I really wanted to get one of those toppers but I just couldn't afford it over our ARE MX price. I do kindof regret it but I'm also broke at the moment so I guess I made the right choice. Maybe on the next Maverick lol!

Nice. I’m getting a wedge camper for mine too. Should have it by end of February.

Installing an electronic rear view mirror (and always on rear camera) and a tailgate bar since the camper will block both the rear window and third brake light. Just curious if you did any of those mods also (and if so had any tips)?

I’m having no luck getting my third brake light to work. I can have it work when the brakes are on, but it remains flashing if any turn signal is on.

As far as the rear view I’ve just been dealing with it. The backup camera works out most of the time.

You have a very nice set up . I am running a Soft topper-xtrusion rack-Free Sprite RTT. Do you feel being able to get into the tent from inside the box is worth the extra money ? Do you use it that way often ? My thought was ,once all my gear is loaded into the truck . My access to climb in from the inside was gone . Plus I am in Canada and 40% exchange rate makes me look at things a little differently. Thanks for sharing your nice build .

I'm looking to get a GFC on my Maverick when it gets built. I've been wondering, does the weight on the back (250 LB?) affect the traction on the front wheel drive?

Nice looking set up, btw. I appreciate the preview of the maverick/ GFC assembly.

Also, it looks like the camper clears the shark fin antenna fine. It also looks like a moon roof won't be a problem.

I don't think getting in from the inside should be a selling point like I thought it was, I'm considering a ladder. For many reasons, including the one you posted.

I don't know what the weight distribution is, but like 70ish percent of it really seems like its ahead of between the wheels.

Wire the topper high mount brake light directly to your cab 3rd brake light, no messing with tapping into the turn signal and having to get a module to screen out the blinker. Just tuck the wire into the rear window edge gap and into the bed. The stock 3rd brake light has a thick gasket that screws down so it should seal against the wires when tightened down. I did that for my shell when I had issues with oem camper shell wiring harness.

It might be hard to get in to the third brake light, now that GFC is installed...

On mine, I've used one of these modules to cancel out the flashes and only have brakes light up the GFC light. The only downside is you need to wire into both left and right light, but it's not that big of a deal.

I tried using a similar module and getting one input from the left and one from the trailer harness, but instantly got a trailer warning, and the relay box made a beeping sound.
