I does not look like it, because he has to take the prop rod off and lower it to fasten. I assume that is the max length of the strut.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I’m short so it doesn’t bother me I’m just wondering if the techs at the stealership will get pissed when I take it in and unhook them.

The good news is that most of these struts are super easy to pop off the mount and hook back up when done. So if you, or the tech working on your truck, needs more clearance, its a five second operation. Popping them back on is even easier.

Nope I will stick with the old prop rod. Is it that hard to open the hood and put up the prop rod...? I think not! Those lift cylinders always fail! Then drop on your head! Hard pass.....

Does the force of the compressed cylinders put pressure on the latch making it harder for the release cable to work? I can see being unable to unlock the hood if there is too much pressure from the the cylinders.

I doubt it. I have a bug deflector on mine and I have to slam it to close it with no problems opening.

Prop rods will go the way of the front porch milkbox. I still have very vague memories of the Milkman. Gen Z will have their own memories in their old age
