Hard for me to imagine a scenario where this smaller box that functions the same and plugs right in with no extension / dongle isn't a better solution though. The USB ports on this vehicle don't exactly feel robust, and don't need something hanging off them heavier than a USB cable in my opinion.

Have to agree with you about the dongle perhaps putting too much tension on the USB port. Seems like it would be more apt to fall out, as well. A short extension so that the unit can rest flat would be a good addition if one wanted the Motorola.

You can make it look much less cluttered without relocating the USB port. I tucked my MA1 underneath and I used a low profile L-shaped USB extension with a flat cable to make it look more seamless and cleaner.

I put one of those in yesterday, ordered it from Amazon after my last post on the subject. First one out of the bag was a 90 in the wrong direction and I started cursing up a storm, then realized maybe thats why they give two? The next one fit the same way as in your pic. Giving it a try for a few days.

I agree on the small dongle, I just wanted a name brand since the headunit is already on the glitchy side.

My Motorola MA1 is tucked behind the phone prop thingy in front of the console.
Not pretty, but it works fine for me. (Sorry for the big ass picture.)

I use a couple of command strips to stick the motorola to the bottom of the stack. (Motorola logo facing down). I leave enough slack in the cable it can be unplugged if needed.
