Just this past week, a guy in our town won $1 million from them. https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-new...warren-couples-door-to-the-tune-of-1-million/you have better odd from playing the mega millions or powerball
Estimated odds are one in 2.5 billion. I agree PCH is a lot of hype relative to delivery, but awarding a $40k prize probably generates $400k worth of free media exposure, so it's not really in their interest to fail to award some prizes.PCH is a con. What they do is like when say a church has a raffle for a car. They have a trillion numbers it could be from. You get a number. So technically not lying they could have a winner but the odds are soooo high its nearly impossible to ever have a winner. They buy a for a few hundred dollars insurance policy if there was a winner. Meaning they don't even have the prize. I call that a con,. But technically legal,
While I never got involved with getting insurance policy my Church did it when they had a raffle for a car. Its not like a small church can afford to give away a car. Get insurance and make odds super high and if by a miracle a person wins insurance pays for car. I am sure PCH does it for all their gives aways that they never give away.Estimated odds are one in 2.5 billion. Where can I buy an insurance policy against paying off a sweepstakes? That seems like the business to be in. I'm already not paying off sweepstakes every single day. I should monetize that.
I do think it's suspect that they claim the prize is an all wheel drive *hybrid* (or cash equivalent). Did I miss some news on AWD Hybrids?
The sweepstakes insurance policies definitely exist. Every single ones of those Golf Course "Get a hole in 1 on this specific date and win 1 million bucks" sweepstakes are insured by these policies for this exact reason. And sometimes they try to weasel their way out of paying even when someone does make a hole in 1.Where can I buy an insurance policy against paying off a sweepstakes?
