I was inspecting my vehicle (which I purchased used) and found that the previous owner had installed a MyPushCart remote start kit. The Maverick already has remote start built into it, doesn't it? So why would you need a third party kit?

Remote start via an app that talks to Ford servers that must talk to your truck.

They may have disabled that on truck side - not wanting to send info up to Ford even.
Perhaps where there was no AT&T network - so not possible to.
Perhaps didn't like the time delay of that communication, or possible unreliable nature of it.

2023 Mavericks are a weird year as they didn't come with remote start on the fob by default. You had to buy it as an add-on or do an aftermarket solution. I went with the latter.

Yes, you can use FordPass, but being able to use the fob is quicker.

...being able to use the fob is quicker.*
*when in range of the fob. :)

It's often a 1/4- or 1/2-mile walk from where I'm working to my truck in the parking lot, and in summer, it's nice to give the truck a 5-minute head start while I'm making my way there. The app has about a 95% first-time success rate with me, and I need the distance more than I need spontaneity.
