As others have mentioned, changing the backup bulbs to led made a significant difference at night for me. I also changed the clear lens bulbs for the bed lighting (top of rear cab) to led, didn't bother with the red lens bulb. The rest i left factory.

I mentioned in another thread a couple days ago. I think it has more to do with how well people see at night individually and how much they tell everyone what is needed and how many of those people will do as they are reccomended. Its probably a social experiment by some college team that isnt allowed to dose students any more.
Cataract development will gradually impact the amount of light that reaches the retina. In order to qualify for Medicare funded replacement of cornea extra light will be needed for two or three years. If you start wanting to turn your headlights on 15 minutes after sunset you are about a year from qualifying. 😁

I'm the sole member of my family to never have corrective lenses. I have always squinted reading computer screens but not print. Still good enough vision for my CDLs. And I can see really well in the dark. So much so that me and my friends used to go ball fields at night and play frisbee. If you can spot a thin flying disc coming right at you, inebriated in a moonless night then you are doing alright.

As others stated, it helps the vehicle stand out a little more, and I think LEDs look better but maybe I've become an LED snob.

Also in my case, it's a travesty the Lariat trim doesn't have LED brake lights - the signature (LED) lighting is cool though.

Lasfits worked great and are super easy to install - hardest ones were actually the 3rd brake light/cargo lights because of the 4 long screws. I tried installing the side marker lights in my 1st Mav and gave up, haven't tried on the new Mav yet.

Side marker was interesting. I couldn’t go from the wheel well or from the engine bay without assistance. I reached down and pulled the socket, handed it to my wife who reached through the wheel well. She pulled the bull and held the socket for me to come around and push the new bulb in. Too tough for me to get two hands in there.
