The reason I decided on the hybrid is because the 2.0 has had a past with head gasket failure. This is due to the cylinder walls are too close together with no passage for coolant between cylinder walls. The gasket area is very narrow between cylinders. And to top it off they increase pressure with a turbo.
FYI - this was an issue back around 2016 - 2017. They have since updated the design to correct the failures.

That said, if you keep it maintained and the fluids clean, it'll outlast you.
We're just 3 model years in... bit early to make that kind of claim... It's a budget truck, faily certain it has a degree of built-in obsolescence.

Oh yes the tiny slot between the cylinders. Ford engineers at work. I’d rather replace a small hybrid battery than repair an engine. Battery basically pays for itself with great gas mileage.
