Yes California has changed a lot for sure. I used to roller skate in San Francisco in the 80’s and loved it.

Been to many niner and giants games there too. Not as popular an place anymore. Niners have moved to Santa Clara.

There are still many great places here, and what do you do if you like the town where you live? Here are some deer on my front lawn. And a pic of my back yard. I’m about 90 miles east from SF.

I, for one, appreciate the humor of gassing up a Mav at a Maverick-only station . That's my conclusion b/c there's nobody else around.

There are two Costco's in your area. Have you tried them? [membership required]

I hope this doesn't descend into a cheap and cheapest rant. I love the TV show "My home town" and am amazed at what $250k buys in Laurel Mississippi. But I'm not going to abandon a lifetime of friends and family.

Cheapest in East San Diego has been $4.25 in the last 4 years for 87 , just paid 3.33 for 87 out in Vegas/ pahrump area of Nevada .
Diesel tends to be about same as 91 about $4.50-4.60 / gallon .
Its funny how I can drive out to the desert in El Centro and pay 40 cents less a gallon even though the gas is trucked out there from the fuel farms in San Diego !

I grew up, went to college, and worked in Northern CA for 20 years. Family still in Eureka. Used to do a lot of bicycle centuries and touring. One trip from the Redwoods, to the Pacific Coast, to the Napa wineries, to Sacto, to the Sierra Nevada foothills and back to Chico. Very few places have the diversity of locations and people.

Yes, (we) California voters seem to think we can save the planet by mandating really expensive energy sources. We've all seen those orange EnergyGuide labels on consumer products like televisions & refrigerators. Depending on when the label was made, the rates for electric power will be either 12 or 16 cents per KWH. Prime time (evening) usage in my area is billed at 60 cents, so actual costs are 4 to 5 times what's stated. Nobody seems to care enough to do the math.

Funny thing but my last truck was an f150 natural gas CNG 2004. It only ran on natural gas nothing else. It was so clean it qualified for HOV commuter lane stickers.

Purchased at auction from PGE for $3600 in 2016, it had 68,000 miles and ran perfectly.

Natural gas was $1.50 per gallon unchanged for 5 years. Suddenly in 2021 it went to $5.28 per gallon overnight. Now it cost almost $100 to fill, up from $28!

Also a pic from my Honda civic CNG, that got me started on clean air vehicles.

Then was when I started looking at a Maverick.
