If you are a FORD stockholder, attend the on-line stockholders meeting on May 11 and start asking questions on what is going on and what the plan is for the future.

The reality is that there is serious demand for a small, efficient pickup, regardless of the price point. There are lots of people who have older homes with small garages that can't fit a Ranger or F-150. That doesn't mean they don't want a truck and aren't willing to pay for all the bells and whistles you can get on a top of the line F-150.

Hopefully, the lack of investment in expanding Maverick Hybrid production is a sign that FORD's long term goal is a plug in hybrid or BEV version of the Maverick. If that's the case, I hope they are planning to build 500K a year, as the demand will be pretty serious.

Just one note . An EV maverick price would be well over 30K starting price for an XL. Battery prices have gone up not down. Plus in short supply with demand so higher prices expected for the near future. So forget plug in or full EV but if they do expect BIG $$$. .

Why do they keep changing the dam name it was EV NOW they ad in Battery as BEV. If its EV we all know it has a battery EV= Electric Vehicle we know it doesn't have a LONG cord plugged in to drive so why the B for battery added. Pet peeve of mine with all the added initials.

Fuel cell vehicles run on electric motors but just have a small battery.

Like most people, I have zero interest in an EV. Hybrids are smart. Many here seem to have a lot of insight into ford and why it does what it does. I do not have that. Ford clearly has work to do in a lot of areas relative to the order and allocation process. As long as they are not offering a case of Bud Light with each purchase, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and hold hope that they have the needed internal ability to correct their shortcomings. A collapsing economy can give clarity to thought in large corporations. It often leads to a focus on what people can afford to buy and a desire to fill that need.

I don’t want an EV either but they will likely qualify for the EV tax credit which is pretty substantial for most people.
