I redid the test only this time I got it down to 20F while the engine was running before cutting the power. I also set the Euhomy voltage monitor setting to H1 which should guarantee the BMS would cutoff power before the compressor did. It ran 4 hours without any issues until the power point timeout limit was reached. Truck also cranked over with no issues afterwards. I have to say I am pleased with the setup and performance from the cooler down to the truck's voltage management.

In my case I use the cooler to transport frozen foods like ice cream from the giant shopping warehouses like Sam's Club. The nearest ones to me are about 2 hour drives. Being able to keep it running at temp with the key off while shopping or if I want to stop afterwards for any reasons is extremely useful.
Wow! Thanks for taking the time to test your setup. It gives me confidence I can't go wrong with mine. Thanks!!!

I purchased the BougeRV Rocy 12 Volt portable refrigerator with a battery. We plug it in the bed plug in and it's cool when we get to the store. Perishable items stay cold and we have the battery backup for up to five hours if we stop before we arrive home. The hard Ford Tonneau Cover will close over it with a couple of inches to spare. We live in a hot climate and it works great. You can use it with a divider in or out. When it's out you can use it as one big unit or as a fridge or freezer with it in. It also comes with an APP you can download on your phone and monitor temp and change the settings. See the link below for reference.

To the original question as far as coolers goes my only criteria is do they seal well when they close. I guess it comes down to capacity(s) needed. I have a 100 qt cooler that fits just as well as a 38 qt cooler in the truck bed. Using a cargo bar the bed dividers become irrelevant. You can also use a tie down strap.

As far as portable freezers goes this is the one I have and it works great so far.

It has wheels and a handle and is 37 qt capacity. As of this posting it is selling for $188 shipped before tax. If the 53 qt version comes down in price I'll probably upgrade.
