My 2003 Toyota Corolla is approaching 280K miles. Needed a waterpump and starter that whole time. What do you think these hybrid Mavericks will provide. Do you think they can go to 150 or 200K miles with minimal repairs. Or is this more of a 70K mile vehicle and then dump it back on the dealer? When I check the used car ads for Toyota Rav 4, I see a lot in the 250K+ mile range. Mavericks are too new to the market to have historical information. What's your thought on our Mavericks, especially the hybrids.
All things being equal, I drive the Maverick like it cost money. Very much unlike many people who speed to the next red light only to brake hard. So if I'm driving it and maintaining it, I think it could last quite a long time. 200k is what I'm thinking but I've got a 8/125k warranty so we'll see at that interval how I feel.

I have to ask, are your CV axles still good? Or did you have to replace them? It seems to be an issue with some hybrids.
Mine are still OK. I do get my trusted mechanic to check the CV boots whenever I've had him do regular maintenance. As I am now approaching 20k miles (most failures have been after 20k miles), I will be more watchful for CV boot leaks.

The early failure of some CV axles in some cases is a reflection of those parts' quality. Not the Hybrid design itself, which is proven reliable tech by both the Ford Escape and Toyota Prius Hybrids.

I drive my Maverick like it's a cheap, disposable, depreciating automotive appliance. Which it is.

That's not slamming the Maverick. I've been happy with mine for two years now. Yea, it's a bloated whale (too frigging big), but it's a reliable bloated whale that performs its duties well and without drama.

They went out and were replaced under warranty. I expect them to go again since the design has yet to be changed by Ford. There are aftermarket axels coming to market that resolve the design flaws of the Ford OEM axles. The only "major" repair done on the truck and it is an early '22.

Although, in the first month of owning it one component of the exhaust threw a code. Instead of shipping that one component Ford just shipped the entire exhaust. The tech said, "Well. They couldn't get the one part due to supply constraints. So they sent the whole thing." I don't count this as major since the real issue was fairly minor and it was Ford's call to go nuclear on the resolution.
