Major fail for about 900 if it doesn't fold up against window glass. If it doesn't its only worth the 450 to 500 price range.
Yeah, for that price they are just milking the Weathertech name.

Yeah, I would've gotten the Bison if they shipped here. I even looked into companies that basically import stuff for you but after the processing and shipping fees it would've been about $800 so for $100 more you get a Bakflip
Exactly. I was soo bummed when I called them and they said they only sold in Canada. It looks really nice too.

Agreed. If you call Backflip they will give you a discount. I got mine out the door for $960. Needed a cover that would open all the way so I could transport mountain bikes. There is another company called Bison that is even cheaper, like $600 US$. But they only sell in CANADA. If you have connections, then …👍
I've never seen that, pretty cool. The bakflip doesn't do that.

To me, the Bakflip G2 looks almost the same as the Bison. More or less, for the same price as the OP's weathertech.

Exactly, but I see you are in Canada so you can buy a Bison. We would have to import it and it would cost as much as a Bakflip by the time we do.

my buddy has a Weathertech and it comes off so easily when you have a need to have the whole bed and in 4-door trucks it can be set inside the rear seat area (or at least in his it does)

Oh yeah, but I was more saying that you can get the Bakflip for the price of the OPs 2/3rds opening weathertech.

I have seen a number of folks complain that their bakflip leaks, so that gutter design on the weathertech seemed worthwhile.

Don't they all leak? Unibody design and all? I get a bit and it's coming from under the bed rails. Water dumping down from the roof rails. I managed to seal the lip behind the cab, but there's always some minor puddling at the back corners.

After reading the experience of others on the topic of bed covers, I opted for the Weathertech three-piece aluminum one. The cost ($995.95 plus shipping and tax) was similar to the others on the market but I have always found the Weathertech products to function "as advertised". It is fabricated with 14g aluminum sheet stock with a satin powder coat finish. The side sections fasten to the inner bed flange with aluminum multi-tooth clamps. I had this mounted within an hour. I've had it out on some of the bumpier streets around here and no rattles so far. Seems like a tight fit and with the rubber seals, it should be at least as dry as most of the better ones. The whole unit weighs a little over 50 lbs. Very happy so far.

I also opted for the Weathertech Tonneau cover, after researching I found that Agri-cover builds their covers along with Lomax covers, and Lomax had 15% off and free shipping. It still came out about the same $1050 total price. Love the removable cover.

On the Weathertech, I'd be a bit worried about those long bolts facing inward, with potential to scratch "stuff" you're hauling in the bed. I would have thought the bolts would go the other way around, but maybe there's insufficient clearance to get a wrench between the rail and the sidewall?

The Bison SOLD in Canada is MADE in China. I asked this question on youtube video of owners to look to see if it had a Made In label. Yes China. So not sure why ONLY Bison has it for that price. I plan to drive up 1.3 hour drive and get one if I ever get a Mav. Not sure if border patrol will even notice. I plan to say nothing about it when driving back.

If you install it correctly you will not have any leaks. Even when I am washing with a high powered washer, it’s virtually leak free. 😂
