Sell car for 4k profit and get something else or wait for Maverick and possibly not get as much for a trade in?

I have a hybrid lariat lux on order from late September so my guess is I won't see it until at least April at the earliest. I didn't put down a deposit, dealer didn't need one.

I currently drive a base 2018 Hyundai Elantra, doesn't have any issues, but carvana is offering me about 4k more than I paid for it. My worry is that the offer may be significantly lower come spring/summer time when I would get the maverick.

I haven't had a chance to test drive the maverick, my wife drives a 2021 escape and I'm not a huge fan of how it handles compared to the Elantra, but the road noise in the Elantra is pretty bad in comparison.

I'm considering a 22 Civic or Corolla hatch. I never expected to have the opportunity to sell my car for anything near I paid, especially since it's a Hyundai, I'm just afraid if I wait the value will go down.

Any thoughts?

Yes....It's seems to be a crap shoot.....I'm sort of in the same situation. Do you wait and take the chance that value decreases or what? I have the ability though with extra saved funds to make up the difference if my value decreases. April seems pretty close for you though for delivery. Any ideas about your delivery timeframe? I spoke with Caravana on the sale of my current VW Golf alltrack and posed the question to them...just before the end of the 30 day quote, contact them and tell them your situation (they deal with these situations all the time). They tell me your original quote is good for 30 days and could stay the same but could change. Everything is market based and value could decrease. Do you still have a balance on the Hundai? The escape? I don't have any loan balance on my 2017 VW with only 24k miles....(thank god). Caravana also offered me 4.5k over what I paid. Wish I had a crystal ball! lol!

Find a Maverick now for 1-2k over MSRP and trade your existing car for best price now.

That way your trade in covers the MSRP over and also tax..

Money should come out of somewhere.
