USB Hub - Ambient Lighting

Started the Maverick Journey with a 22 Maverick Lariat and just replaced it with a 25 Maverick Hybrid Lariat. My question is the USB hub in front doesn’t have ambient lighting anymore. During nighttime you can’t see the port. Is there a way to get Ford to fix this, or get the old port back since it’s the same. Here are some pics of my 22 & 25.

You could buy the part. It's fairly expensive however.

It clips out easily and there are just two input connectors on it.

Not sure if it's supposed to be backlit or not though.

My 2025 doesn't light up either. My guess is another thing to cut costs.

I installed my own Ambient Lighting in that area.

My personal experience is that once I plugged in a 12" cord that I don't much have to fuss with that area any more, so lighting isn't necessary.

Thanks, I used single smd chip leds from superbrightLEDs.com for the cubby, cupholder area and rear of console mounted using hot glue. For the front footwells a 2" led pod mounted to the OEM location with 3m tape.

It's all wired into the 12v plug wires under the front cubby. To turn on and off it uses and wireless remote inline with the 12v wiring. Brightness is also controlled by the remote.
