UPDATE Side steps / running board for 2024 Maverick hybrid

My husband and I love the look of the Tac running boards, but I am concerned that adding them to our '24 Maverick Lariat hybrid would bring them too close to the ground. I deal with dirt roads that rain does a number on and speed bumps at work.

We have running boards on our other trucks that have proved useful, but none of them are low to the ground like the Maverick. I'm curious if any of you that have running boards have used them beyond nice, city streets and if they worked out for you.

while I can't speak for the ground clearance (mine hasn't even been scheduled yet), I initially ordered these running boards

while I like(D) the looks & functionality of them, the packaging was absolute . I never even actually opened the package with the boards, but first opened the bracket packaging...theindividual brackets were in extremely THIN plastic bags & that was it, no packaging whatsoever..the finish on every single bracket was destroyed & n0ot something i'd even consider puting on the truck due to corrosion possibilities

while I was refunded, just keep in mind that many places, with items as large as running boards or steps, simply drop-ship from the manufacturer

make sure you choose a retailer that will deal with you & not simply refer you to the manufacturer if there is an issue

Thanks for the heads up. I've started seeing more things shipped like that. We've been lucky so far that nothing was damaged but one bag had never been sealed and arrived empty.

My husband was looking at Go Rhino Dominator DSS Slider. They don't look like they take away from ground clearance, can handle our normal driving on less-than-perfect roads, and will add some protection to the body. Has anyone tried these?

Thank you, Jeff! My husband sent me the link to your other video on them to send me searching for how well these would work for us. The road you're on looks like the one we live on that's very sandy. One of the reasons we're looking for something like this is that we put in new floor mats and within a day it looked like the Sahara had migrated on to the floor. I wanted something where I could kick off the sand before getting in and protect the truck from flying rocks like yours did with the dent. I appreciate your response and video!! Thank you!
