Hopefully the insurance company will treat you fairly. If not be prepared to fight. I've had an insurance company offer a really low settlement for hail damage.

Insurance will pay for it, and they will get reamed in higher insurance rates. I'd just fix it mysel.

Not really. The hood of the Maverick is aluminum. The other body parts are steel so it would hold that a light hail could dent the hood and not the roof.

Hail is one of the storm elements I fear the most.

LOL, they say that but will. I have glass coverage, had the windshield replaced, rates went up, I was told I had a claim.

Rather than replace the hood and have non-factory paint, I would prefer to have a PDR outfit do their thing. I have seen the before and after, and a good PDR can make flawless corrections.
I had one car get hail damaged, and did not repair the problem. Wait a few years, and the heat cycles seemed to make the sheet metal remember its former shape to the point you do not know there was ever damage. I cannot find one of the formerly dented spots.

Update. I am happy to report that all of the hail damage was repaired. The truck looks brand new again. I'm so happy everything worked out.

I inspected it for like 10 minutes before I left the body shop. They really did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm happy that everything was repaired.
