Under hood storage

Ford made the Maverick look more like a truck by putting a high hood height, this leaves a lot of space between the engine and the hood. It would be cool if Ford offered a hinged insulated sealed storage tray under the hood for tools, cables etc. It might make the hood to heavy so maybe mount it above the engine and the hood could close on top of it. Of course no contraband could be stored there.
Any Ford designers out there or even after market? What do you all think? Maybe I'm crazy!

I went to look and it is a pretty brilliant idea since it would be locked secure and at maybe 4-5" deep. You'd have to get hydraulic hood lifts, but it could attach to the hood and hinge down to a level tray. Not sure what I would put there, I tend to fill storage areas and never access them again, like under the seat, but you could have some fluids and small tool set and jumper cables.
