TuffStuff Alpha II "rooftop" tent

Added a TuffStuff Alpha II "rooftop" tent on self engineered bed rack made with 4 Simpson Strongtie brackets and Unistrut. Queen size bed. Overhangs the bed in the back but doesn't reach beyond the tailgate. More info once we spend a night in it.

Looks good. We have one of their old Ranger models with annex. We had health issue that stopped camping for a few years and ants destroyed its canvas. It can be re-skinned though. One day soon. Dont let it happen to you.

@Bigsarge. Closed it is about 48 wide, 60 long, 13 or so high. Sits about flush with the cab now but may lower the rack after we fit a tonneau.

Folded out, bed is queen sized; 60 x 78 or so.

@Bigsarge I should have added that I've only spent one night in it so far. Found the mattress toooo firm. Making plans for another inch of foam.

Awesome setup! We ordered an Area 51 XL to build into this exact same rig. Unfortunatly we haven't had the truck even scheduled yet.

@64Jazz. Hang in there. We waited 11 months but it was worth it.

I don't know if I have a picture showing it, but was delighted to discover that the RTT does hang over the closed tailgate but doesn't extend past the bumper.

looks awesome. I looking to possible picking up one also for my Maverick. Any updates of the quality and sturdiness? Can you send pics of the overhang in the back and another pics would be great.

I was about to repost the same pick. Sorry I don't have a good pick showing it, but it is even with the bumper. This is the Alpha II, not the original Alpha.
