I also had initial reservations when buying my Tremor and I waffled a lot during my drive over to Clearwater, but I'll say, I fell in love with its looks very quickly, and the test drive sealed the deal...all within 20 minutes.

Just wish my dealer experience at Ferman would have been better.

Why a lot of other people put quotes when they are talking about the Tremor's rear "locking" differential is that when you turn, with no slip detected, the the computer will release the clutch pack a little on the rear wheel that is on the inside of the turn and reactively lock it again when it detects slip. This is going to save a lot of tire tread and other wear/tear. I believe the only difference, with the rear differential "locked" or not on the dash, is how much it releases this inside tire. If it does not detect wheel slip, it will always save itself by releasing one of the clutches at least a little, no matter what mode it is in. I'm not saying this because I think it is a bad idea. I think it's awesome.

I got to witness the complete opposite of this when wheeling with a friend. He has an old Jeep Cherokee with the rear differential permanently locked. Every time he turned sharp on the pavement, on the way to the trails, you can hear the big expensive tires sliding across the pavement like he was doing a slow motion doughnut hehe

(1) Yes. There is a 360 degree camera. The previous Tremor lacked a forward camera (which is very helpful for off-roading).
(2) 4WD is intelligent. It sends 50% torque to front and 50% to rear axles, but the computer decides how much to send to each wheel based on wheelspin. When you lock the rear axle, each wheel will ger 25% torque.
(3) Yes.

If you want to do some moderate off-roading, the Tremor is the vehicle for you (because it has a higher front ramp angle). If you just do occasional off-roading (beach, small ruts, etc), I would get the FX4 package plus 4k Tow package. But the front clearance on a non-Tremor is significantly lower than the Tremor.
Just don’t follow Jeeps and 4x4 Taco’s into the woods. Up here you’d never come back out, in one piece.
Even the Tremor is no where near as capable off road as a True 4x4 with a proper height.

Thanks for the help. I ended up getting a 2.0 XLT with the FX4, 4K Tow, Luxury in Space White.
