8f35 failure, was expected but not wanted. Tossed in another awd maverick trans. Swapped output differential for my fwd. I dont wanna keep swaping trans and there really isn't any parts to beef up more than the 8f40 equivalent. I can make a mmt6 work physically from the mounting and adding a pedal and cutting the console for a shifter, no worries. For the $2k spent on auto doner I coulda got all needed parts, but timeframe to drive way more than 3 days. If I pursue this avenue, who can help with the software communication issue that will arise. I wanna keep the dash looking oe with the clutch pedal down there. Is there any info on this swap?

No idea, but since you’re pushing it that hard maybe get you a baby raptor or go all out and put a 2.7 or 3.0 engine/trans setup in it

I'm curious: are you flushing the transmission cooler to get all the metal bits out? If not, you'll be circulating metal debris from the old transmission into the new one

8f57 I believe too big externally. I did check thoes out, but may also have the communication issue. Id rather the more bulletproof option.

Cooler changed with trans. No worries there.

How many miles until failure?
Probably doesn't matter much. No doubt its been pushed hard, probably racing, etc. along with numerous aftermarket changes. It's no where close to being stock. Seem to recall he had already toasted the 2.0 and installed a 2.3 He done a lot of work with it and looks really nice, lots of nice additions

Has anyone looked at adding an aftermarket inline filter to the cooler?
This trans like alot of newer Fords have a thermostat type restriction to the cooler. They want them running at 185-200 degrees

Yes 2.3 swap, with bigger turbo, many mod parts, methanol injection. I flog the poor girl all the time.

122k is a hell of a life for a stock trans! How long was the 2.3L and bigger turbo in there?
