Tracking using just the Vin #

Using the Motorcraft site, I know the vehicle I have a deposit on has been built. The salesman also sent me a notice that it’s TBD in Mexico with no shipping date. Since the dealership ordered it, I don’t have an order number and they won’t give me their's. Is there anyway I can track with just the Vin #?

You should have an order number.from your Preview Order. The dealer has it if for some reason you don't, and you can request it from them.

They do I'm sure, but they had ordered the truck. I looked all over the west coast for what I wanted already built and couldn't find one. Then I used Costco Auto purchase plan and was hooked up with their internet salesman who told me they had what I wanted was coming. I have a pending sale with a deposit, but again I didn't order it and they won't release the order number. I don't really care except for tracking purposes .
I'm just anxious like everyone is or has been!

I understand. What a bummer! I was checking my order daily for weeks and while I can't say it helped, well, I did it anyway.

I did that back in 2021 for my 1st time. Frustrating but fun at the same time. I kind of miss that

My salesman has been really good, I just hate to keep bugging him. I try to contain myself to once a week. He'll be glad when my sale is complete!

While you're at Costco, pick up a pacifier. Just kidding. Maybe rethink buying from this dealer if your salesperson won't give an update after taking your deposit? Perhaps you are just to them?

It's a good discount plus it was added on to the employee discount, so I think it was well worth it.
And I might have given the wrong impression, the salesperson is great and he does give me updates, its just that I don't have an order number like I would, had I ordered the truck myself. So I don't know a way to track it without both an order number and the vin #. I've had the vin# all along.

Mine is still held up because of an active exception (maybe to do with co-pilot 360)? However, when the salesman sent the information this time, it included the order number , so at least I can do my own unlimited checking on it now!
