Towing a teardrop camper?

I tow this with my Hybrid. Knocks the milage down about ten. Does fine.

That's pretty neat.
Towing an antique truck and trailer (legal in SOME states) and losing only 10 MPG.

I am new to the MaverickTruckClub, and I was wondering what kind of experiences have others had towing a teardrop camper. Curious about gas mileage with the 2.0 eco-boost. I’m looking at possibly a 3000 to 3500 pound weight teardrop. Thanks.

This is my set up with a home built foamie. Weight fully loaded with water, propane food and gear is 1,300 lbs. On my last trip to Maine, averaged 22 MPG while driving at highway speeds of 65 mph. Weight of the camper affects gas used during acceleration, but the real impact is aerodynamics. There's around a 3 MPG difference between cruising at 65 and 70 mph.

I'm tracking every tank of gas I buy. City 45% Highway 55% of which 24% has been towing the trailer. To date I'm getting the following MPGs:

• Overall Average - 23.92
• Highway - 30.08
• City - 21.18
• Highway with Camper - 21.97
• Highway with kayak only - 27.56

Of course I have the 4K tow package, that’s what makes me able to ask the question.

the "box" is 60" wide, 52" high and 108" long. It's all foam board covered inside and out with PMF and many layers of paint.

Mine tows easy but it's under 1000# i have 4k tow looking for something a bit bigger soon.
