We towed this weekend for the first time. Vehicle has just over 3500 miles on it.

The trailer weighs 650 lbs and the bike is about 400 lbs. We also added some metal shelving later which was maybe 50 lbs.

Traveled about 200 miles roundtrip.

Mostly flat areas, but one pass. Had no problems at all towing. MPG was 31. Very happy about that! As our Chevy with a lift and larger tires would have gotten about 14 MPG at the most.

Absolutely loving this truck. Going to be changing the oil and rotating tires at 5000 miles

What engine? 2.5L or 2.0L? Curious about how well I could tow with my 2.5L, 2,000lbs max rating. I've been spoiled towing with the F450's 6.7L Diesels at work.

Great question, we had to get shelving. About 16 feet long...just easier to load on the trailer...plus the weight helped keep the trailer more stable, etc.

Appreciate the post. We have a small pop up camper that weighs about 865 lbs dry. I’m guessing it will be close to 1,100 fully loaded with gear, propane, water, and battery. That 31mpg stat is certainly impressive. Good to know the hybrid engine is capable.

I have alot of DRZ lovers in my riding circle that worship them lol I see you are a man of class on that 701.
I had a 15' 501 with SM setup that i would swap on for riding to work. now i have my TE250i for the enduro and my KTM 1190r for street/fireroad duty.

I towed this weekend for the first time with mine too. 5x8 enclosed uhaul with about 800 lbs of stuff inside. It was a few hundred less than the 2k limit, but I am not sure of the exact number.

It handled the 50 miles I drove just fine. I didn't get the mpg.
