Too Good To Be True

I wanted to survey the group to see if I should allow myself to get my hopes up. Ordered VB, Hybrid Lariat Lux w/ all the trimmings on 10/23/21. On 7/1, my dealer informed me I had a VIN number and a build date of 8/29. And, you guessed it, this date was pushed back to 9/19, and then pushed to the end of that week, 9/23. However, after checking with the Ford chat this evening (9/7), I was informed that "...your Maverick is In Order Processing, Scheduled to Day (2022-09-20), Ford Hermosillo Assembly, SO. Your estimated time of arrival is Sep-29-2022 at this time". Which, after asking for clarification of what that meant (because I was in shock), they stated that meant that 9/29 is when it would be delivered to my dealership (Pennsylvania). So, my question to you all is; Do I allow myself to actually believe that it can actually get built and get to me by 9/29? I mean, even if the stars align and it really get built, there's no way, right? Even if the rail strike on 9/16 doesn't happen. From Mexico to PA in 9 days? I'll be STUNNED if it happens. What do ya think?

Not if there is a railway strike. Mine was built a few days ago and is scheduled to arrive between the 24th and the 30th. I'm not holding my breath.

Stuff happens in both directions. Somebody wins the lottery, etc. etc., but I wouldn't sell your current car just yet.
