I saw a Carbon Gray on the highway. I'm getting an Iconic Silver. It looked like a real truck. There's a VIN. By all accounts I'll get mine. Been waiting a long time.

I agree. I too have a VIN and a build week (three actually) and am looking forward to having a TRUCK. I don't own a ranch in west Texas or live at the end of a logging road in upper Michigan so this is all the truck I need or want and it looks like a proper truck to me.

I don't need a truck either, but I did want one. Just could never justify it - all the options were too large, too expensive, too inefficient. Maverick checked all the boxes.

Mine is currently in production.

What's the test mule? Is that the new Ranger? I don't see an F150 window dip in front. I see the oval Ford badge in the rear. But it's an extended cab.

Edit: Answered my own question with Google Lens. Yea, it's the new Ranger.

Correct, the Gen 6 NA version new Ranger. I'm still taking my Maverick whenever it shows up, but I never really loved the idea of the crew cab short bed setup. Would have preferred a small truck more like the 4 Rangers I previously owned (2 with SCab & 2 single cab)- Maverick was the only game in town as the current Ranger (5th Gen) doesn't impress me at all and we already have a F-150 SCab that meets all major "truck" needs in the family- but is too big for a DD. I'm just watching the Ranger to see if it maybe has a couple more features to my liking than the Maverick.

Oh yeah, it should have the rear seat delete that looks well done on the current Ranger AND the rear license plate is in the middle! (y)

Yeah, it looks like a proper truck to me. Maybe a little too big for my itsy-bitsy garage but I don't need a monster truck to feel validated. I'm looking forward to having a (more or less) full-size back seat but I could get comfy with a jump seat and a larger bed too.

That Ranger is not the 2021 or Colorado or Asian make we had to choose from last year.

totally agree, none of those appealed to me and I wasn't looking for mid-size at all- hence Maverick was the only game in town for a compact. The Maverick did force me to compromise on a few things though, that maybe I won't have to on the new Ranger, but that is still TBD in the future. I've had many months to contemplate what the Maverick ownership experience will be like and a couple of realizations I've had making me not dead set against a redesigned mid-size Ranger.

My 1994 Toyota pick up 5 speed with 110000 miles on it is great but
the Maverick is 10 in longer and 7 in. Wider With lots more room.
Both are the right size for me.
