Next is the resentment phase. Your kid/wife borrows your car and drops mpg from 54.0 to 50.2. Oh, the shock and horror! On your way to 700 miles per tank and scuttled by someones careless trip to the convenience store!

Whenever I drive wife's car I always point out "I increased your score to 4x.x. Let's try to keep it there, shall we?"

Then the resentment phase....

Jesus! I consistently get 48/49 MPG-my wife gets in it and the next time I see its 40.1 Even on the HWY I get 43/44

YES!! Just getting into that phase ALSO. Got into the truck the other day..my wife has the lead foot and it really showed!! O gawd....what's next?

You guys let your wife / kids borrow your truck? What were you thinking? The blue bar will punish you for that!

But it's interesting here in the Austin area... Most of the time I can do back roads or surface streets, and it only changes my estimated arrival time by a few minutes... Bonus points for getting to avoid the terrible Austin traffic.

Although I did have take I-35 the other day – no other alternate route available – and found I was getting 55+ mpg in the stop-and-go driving caused by someone's accident. Almost resented it when the traffic cleared out and speed went back up to "Warp Factor 9".
