For sure, I'm getting an extended warranty. No question about it. But, realistically, I wanted my Mav to last me through med school and maybe (if I'm lucky) through my last year or two of residency. After that, I'm getting another vehicle. I have a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant that was my first vehicle from 2015 up till now (previously owned by my mom) with 156k on it. Still, never had an issue besides me replacing the E-brake (my own idiotic 16 year old mistake) and the fuel system. So while I am praying to God it's the same with my Maverick, if it's not possible, I will get another vehicle in 5 years or so. My first time having a Ford, but my boyfriend and dad has one. Both have had to be recalled two or three times. I'm still excited for my Maverick though! Lol

So yall are on a forum to buy a vehicle you think will crap out? I can take a dump in a box and slap a warranty sticker on it if yall wanna buy some, Shipping is $29.95 from Maui for a guaranteed dump in a box. Seriously I got the box. And tape!
Lol there are people that actually do this. Buy a celebrity's nail clippings etc.

Excellent point. I have educated myself here and on other websites as to what the issue is with our hybrid constantly going into "Deep Sleep" mode, and how to get out of it. Ford never published any how to's on the problem since they don't want to advertise that they have a software issue, and the dealerships often don't know it either. Ours is currently in the shop for the Deep Sleep issue but we'll pick it up this week and handle it ourselves until the software fix is issued. And note that most Ford dealers admittedly don't have people trained to deal with these hybrids. The honest ones will tell you that, so educate yourself from the people who know a lot here on this forum.
An update to my Deep Sleep problem. We picked up the Maverick today and it appears to be running fine. Our dealership here in Crossville TN did find a bad cell in the battery under the back seat, and replaced the battery (I believe others may have had the same thing happen to them in other forums on this site). We'll see if that solves the problem since that certainly would have been causing the low battery notices we were getting, and the fact that the software would put the truck into Deep Sleep mode.

Probably should hold off from posting, but the cam shaft issue gave me some pause since they have been making them sometime on the hybrid 2.5l. Guess there was some changes with bosses or personal for the milling to be off and quality control not catching it. Also maybe upping the number corporate or someone is telling them to produce and comes with a cost. There have been 5 Maverick engine failures that resulted in fires, <-- This 5 Maverick thing is according to JCCR in talking about the lawsuit.

The other issues feel fine that they find an issue and correct it.

Hyundai And Kia Recall SUVs, Advise Owners To Park Outside Due To Fire Risk

Ford Maverick This has me worried, and i havent even got mine yet 63065a480adf1e0de363a77b?ops=contain(1480,0)

and you think maverick is bad
Hyundai and Kia announced a recall of more than 281,000 SUVs due to a fire risk. The recall covers 245,030 Hyundai Palisades from 2020-2022 and 36,417 2020-2022 Kia Tellurides. The automakers have advised owners to park their vehicles outside because the fires can start even when the vehicles are not running.
The issue is caused by a defect in the tow hitch system that lets moisture and debris in, which can result in a short circuit that could spark a fire. Kia said it received reports of six fires due to the issue, though there were no injuries or crashes related to the problem.
The manufacturers have not determined a permanent fix for the problem. However, Hyundai said it has a temporary solution and will remove the fuse from the tow hitch to eliminate the risk of a fire.
The car companies said they will begin to notify owners in October.

I DONT SEE FORD ON ANY OF THESE LISTS.
That's because it has the top five and the worst five. Ford is middle of the pack, so they didn't show up.

If you want to find that information, you'll have to find it on your own.

And you missed the entire point of my post.

Also, don't shout at me.

Recently Mazda has taken over Toyota as the #1 “brand” for quality.

All manufacturers have their duds however over the long run there is Toyota and then everyone else for building quality vehicles.

I think Toyota has been caught with their pants down and have fallen behind on producing new products that people really want. As a result they are doing “non Toyota” acts and rushing things.

The new Tundra with the crappy turbo V6 has not been good. It replaced the generation of trucks that are the most reliable ever produced.

I really hope Ford can straighten things out with their quality because the Maverick is a great idea. People can deal with “cheap” if they perceive value however poor quality is never acceptable.
The most reliable Toyota was the 84-89 Pickup with the 22R 4 cylinder :)

My one brother had a 79 with the 22R. Truck fell apart before the engine did. Horrible steel back then without any galvanizing.

DeeZee: "The new Tundra with the crappy turbo V6 has not been good. It replaced the generation of trucks that are the most reliable ever produced".

Besides our 2022 Maverick hybrid, we have driven our 2012 F-150 w/the V6 EcoBoost turbo for ten years and 135K miles. No problems yet; just routine maintenance and now onto our third and newest set of tires. Hoping to get up towards 200K before I have to seriously think about replacing the turbos. We don't push the truck hard although it does a lot of highway miles, and averages just over 20mpg. Unlike the Tundra this truck has been a dream.
