Taking delivery next month

So, finally, my Maverick has been built and has shipped, scheduled to arrive sometime next month. I ordered a hybrid model XLT with the luxury package. I added a moon roof, on my original ordering paperwork from the dealer price is like 28 and change with destination fee etc, and now the price is 30k on the sticker price with destination fee etc I ordered it last year in September I’m guessing the price difference is 2022 vs 2023 model? Any suggestions on anything I need to know before I taking delivery and signing on the dotted line? I did hear something about ford giving a credit? Thanks for any suggestions feedback

Was this a roll over? Have dealer check Smart Vincent for price protection.

If you ordered in September without having a 2022 unscheduled previously you may get price protection for the MSRP of what you ordered in September. The price went up on February 1 by $500. But the dealer doesn't have to honor that protection if they are a dishonest dealer.

It isn't clear from your note exactly what happened. Did you add the sunroof after you ordered the 2023? Did you have a 2022 order?

The moon roof I added when I ordered the truck I have not changed anything on it since I ordered it at the dealer, and yes, I believe I had a 2022 order and got bumped up to the 2023

Obviously this was not a rollover. Most dealers will honor the price when you ordered in Sept of 22, though a few will not. Let's hope you have an honest one who will.

The price is coming directly from ford though? Not the dealer, my original order says 2022 my build mav is a 2023

You seem confused. You placed an order with the dealer in April 2022 for a 2022 truck. But it wasn't built by September 2022 when the order banks opened for the 2023 model so you placed a new order with the dealer for a 2023. When they stopped making the 2022 models in November your 2022 was not built. Is that correct?

Now your 2023 is shipping and the price is different. The price you pay is the window sticker price of the 2023. Unless your dealer honors price protection of the 2023 order ($500 difference) and a private offer from Ford for the 2022 that didn't get built if the certificate number for the private offer can be found.

Did anyone (Ford customer service or dealer) tell you about a private offer? Did you get any email/notice about one? I don't remember the exact amount, I think around $2,700.

You need to call Ford customer service and ask them if they show a private offer for your order. You need to get this determined now.

What price does your 2023 order sheet show (not the 2022 order sheet price)?

Does your order say it's a 2023? Last September orders were for 2023s. Dealer should be honoring your original order price.

I spoke to the dealer today and looks like the truck is already in LA. I’m in San Diego so I should be getting it any day now, I did ask them about the private offer and they said they will honor that
