Hello, I have a questoon for anyone that has the tailgate spoiler installed....
I LOVE the look, and seriously considering buying, but I understand that they are only held on by 3M tape.

My question is... with this spoiler on, can you still sit on the tailgate without fear of knocking it off? And can it withstand going through a car wash regularly(once a month)? I love the look but dont want to restrict my ability to do simple things like sit on my tailgate or take to carwash.

If its possible, could someone post an image of the tailgate all the way down to see at what angle the spoiler points down (like from the side of the truck)? Im worried if someone sits off the tailgate and their legs lean on it or bump it, it will eventually come loose and fall off.

Not a great picture of the tailgate down and I know it.
People underestimate 3M tape. If the surface is prepped correctly that tape is tenacious. Almost every badge you see on a car is held

on with that type of tape, some of even lesser quality, and they stay on fine.

As far as car washes go, I have run mine through dozens and dozens of times, not a problem at all.

The only thing I would not suggest with a tailgate spoiler is hanging the front wheel/frame bikes off it like you see some people do with a mat. The spoiler extends past the trailing edge too far.

Heres some pics showing the stock ducktail and the aftermarket spoiler. The aftermarket is more of a whale tail than a duckbill design, it’s pretty flat in the middle Section.

For what it’s worth, I don’t sit on the tailgate drinking beers or anything but I do get up on it, dragging things in and out of the bed all the time. I frequently use the gate as a table and rub against it often. Never even give the spoiler a thought.
It’s not going anywhere.

I just thought of something.
Everytime I let down, or put up, my tailgate, I use the spoiler as a handle. That’s a lot of stress and weight.
Hasnt affected the 3M tape bonding in the least.

Not to hijack the thread but I seem to remember you were getting better MPG's after installing the spoiler.

Is that correct? Thanks

Looks great esp all the pic angles. Spoiler installed with the tailgate closed, does it interfere with the tonneau cover? Extra effort closing or raised level when closed? Can you take a pic with it closed ... was wondering if it closes the small gap in the corners. BTW I have the Bak X4s. Thanks

Its definitely a tight fit but IMO that makes it better because its a tighter seal
I have the amazon special rollup tonneau and fits snug.

It works very well with the Ford Trifold Hard Tonneau. No extra effort required.

Tailgate spoiler really tightens up all the gaps. I like the look. Been putting off my purchase. Now is a good time to buy. Thanks

I have the same bed cover and want the spoiler to stick up a bit higher. Was thinking of adding a lip to that ford one as seen on some chargers. I’ll just wait for a company to make one.

I installed it to deal with the build up of dust on the tailgate (we live on a gavel road). It really helped to keep the tailgate and the entire back of the truck cleaner.
