Without going into a dealer, can I order a new R and L “s” shape rubber stop bumper cushion that helps the tailgate close with some softness? Both of my parts have fallen off and are lost. I don’t know the part numbers. Online all I can find are the cushions for F-150s. Do you have similar issues with these disappearing and advise on how to keep them in the hole with the plastic anchor?

This might be a warranty issue, if they fell off during normal use. Might be worth a trip to the dealership. I did a quick search on parts.ford.com but didn't find anything obvious.

Tangental to your post but related to the tailgate, I highly recommend the soft-open tailgate damper. I purchased mine via Amazon for $20 as opposed to the Ford accesory priced at $50. By any chance, did your rubber tailgate stops disappear after a trip to your dealer for service? A couple of times [Not with Ford] I found an item missing after dealer service. Once my oil dipstick and another time the washer fluid reservoir cap.

I will look into that. Thanks. Wish I could just find the part numbers to those L and R cushions too!

11/24/23 Good morning - after my second cup of coffee I will go to my garage and look at mine for any evidence of a part number. My guess is there is no L and R - they are probably identical.

If you're still in search of the cushions, please refer to the following part numbers : ( NZ6Z-99439A00-A / NZ6Z-99439A00-B ).

i just recently had the same issue with this tailgate stop bumper falling off on passenger side. I have inspection appmnt with dealer next week and they are also supposed to have ordered one and replace during this appmnt.

It doesn‘t appear to be a very sturdy design. This one will be covered under warranty but I expect these may be an issue falling off long term. Not very expensive part so I’m not too concerned.

The good news: It appears the L and R tailgate rubber bumper stops are identical. The bad news: A plastic insert holds them on and I don't want to risk breaking it to try to get a part number. The part looks identical on both my '22 Mav and my "24 Mav. The parts counter at a Ford dealer should be able to find it. I couldn't find a parts diagram that covers that area of the bed.

I think I am missing that plastic insert. Don’t mess with it! If it stays in be grateful

I recall a thread (or more than one) about these rubber stoppers maybe a year ago? I think it will be a common issue. When we took delivery of our ‘23 recently, I recalled that older thread upon opening our tailgate. I found the passenger stopper noticeably looser than the driver side. I expect it to fall off at some point.

They are not identical. Have to order driver and passenger side. I went to Ford to order them cause they both fell off in my 23. They have a cheap plastic clip to hold them in. They will break off again for sure. I’m looking for a way to screw them in, but couldn’t find a screw with the right breadth of thread for hole the plastic clip goes into at the hardware store.
