Hi I was wondering if there is a way to individually control the power lock on the tailgate. I would like to have the tailgate stay locked when I exit the truck.

Just touch the door when you close it, right? On a Lariat Lux? Everything locks on mine.

Yeah that's what I don't want. Want to leave the tailgate locked. Not a big deal but would be nice.

Probably wouldn't be too hard to disconnect the power lock (easy access by taking the inside panel off) and then just use the key when you wanted to lock/unlock it.

Other solution would be to find a place to put a switch in the line so you could operate it as intended when you wanted.

Guess I could but don't need it that bad. Thanks.

I'm kind of confused here. You want the doors to be open but the tailgate to be locked? I assume you have a tonneau cover.

If the doors are open and the tailgate locked you could open a door and press the unlock button and unlock the tailgate.
Is there a setting to not auto unlock the doors when you turn the truck off?

Hi I was wondering if there is a way to individually control the power lock on the tailgate. I would like to have the tailgate stay locked when I exit the truck.
As far as the vehicle is concerned, the tailgate is just a 5th door. Would be the same on an Escape or Bronco Sport with a liftgate.

There are 2 settings - one is when you unlock via the driver door (getting in or out), it unlocks just the driver door. The other is that it does all 5. Those are the 2 choices you get. Regardless, the passenger doors should unlock all 5.

There's no programmable way of locking or unlocking just the tailgate except via the physical key in the lock cylinder on the tailgate.
