Tailgate cable release mechanism

I got to see a Mav trainer today. The only thing that worried me was the mechanism to release the tailgate cable for adjusting the angle of the tailgate. It was a pre production model, but the mechanism seemed really cheap and thin. It was not very clear how to manipulate the release too.

I haven't seen a Mav IRL yet. But I remember one of the early promo videos showing the cable tilt feature. The guy demonstrating really fumbled with the cable connection. Didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

It was the only thing that I felt was cheap. I probably won’t need to adjust the tailgate anyway, but people that do might break that thin metal piece.

This features has been around for a long time. My 08 F-150s tailgate had the same trick. I tried it the other day to get feel for how it would work. It appears to be an identical mechanism.
