I have looked everywhere else, so trying here. I bought a 2024 Maverick Hybrid about one month ago; it had been ordered 9 months before that. It now has under 3,000 miles and was working fine until one week ago. I got a message that said "System Shift Fault" and "get service soon". And then, it stopped completely and had to be towed to dealership. After one day, car returned saying they had replaced 12V battery. The car ran for another day and then the message reappeared. I drove it straight to the dealership where it remains as of today. I have received NO information on the status or problem. I gather that there have been electric/computer issues with previous models and need to know if this is fixable or if I will need to lobby for a return/replacement. This is happening in the middle of hurricane (Helene) dislocation and the death of my spouse (one week ago). Anyone hear have any guidance? I made a mistake of accidentally enrolling in "Justanswer", but did get to speak with a technician who outlined some of the possible issues. But I didn't realize that is a $39/month membership which has been cancelled. Thanks in advance.

@Barbaraegd sorry to hear you're having to deal with this while also grieving your spouse and being displaced due to Helene.
You've got a lot on your plate right now!

I had this happen twice. First time the transmission and hybrid control module went out last year they fixed and was good to go , July 30 2024 it popped up again and still sitting at the dealer until late November waiting on a wire harness for the transmission . The 40 pin plug located in the left front by the bumper . has corroded several pins., this is apparently a common issue on others makes. Stilll waiting , prob be Christmas before I see it. They are going to fill the 40 pin full of dielectric grease this time as there is none. I used to run my car thru the car wash every day, not sure if this was the issue but the hurricane water may have got you too.

The reason I joined this forum was to find out if this is a problem with the Hybrid Maverick. I bought my 2024 Hybrid in April to tow behind my RV. I had Camping world install the towing package and the Invisa Brake system. Towed and drove the the Maverick from Middle of May to end of June covering over 4000 miles of towing & 1000 miles of actually during it. In November and now with 5500 miles on the Truck I got in to start it to go and Shift system fault showed up and froze in the emergency brake. Could not move the shift knob. I got an alternative ride as I had to be somewhere. I came home and it Worked But I had stopped at Ford and made an appointment before coming home but later canceled it a couple of days later because it was working. A week later it did it again but I had to have it towed to ford. They were baffled and after two weeks said the found a plug that was not completed connected so they connected it and they said it is working. I drove it for a week and on a Saturday moring it froze up again and I had it towed. It has been two weeks and no answer they are baffled. I am ready to push the Lemon law as of now I do not trust that the truck will start and be in a inconvenient place. Each time it happens i was in my garage. I started reading threads and it seems this is a problem with the Hybrids. When working I like driving it but now do not trust it even if they said it is now fixed.

I got my truck back on 12/10 after 5 months sitting in the shop. They replaced the entire front wire harness in the truck. All is good for now. They showed me the 40 pin plug and it had corroded pins that were the issue. It’s in a bad spot to get water in it . Front left bumper area. I took the shop a big tube of dielectric grease to fill up the connector on the new harness. Time will tell.
