2023 XLT Hybrid failed to go into gear intermittently. Dealer advised bringing it in and kept the vehicle stating it was unsafe to drive. Been in the shop since 10/5/26 (14 days) with another week to a week and a half to go for repair. They have advised it is an electronic module issue, with most of the time spent waiting for the parts. Anyone elso have this exact issue?

Is it a warranty issue? If so, hope they gave you a loner.

Mine is a 2024 and I had a similar issue when I had only had it for about 3 months. The dealership first replaced the 12V battery, but then it happened again. They also kept it about a week and I know it was something to do with the electronics also. It hasn't happened again since then.

Does that mean stuck in Park is what failed?

Or you could move to Reverse or Drive, but failed to move?

Just wonder because there is no "gear" on an eCVT like a normal transmission.

Since they said unsafe to drive, kinda wondering because if you can shift outta Park, you can make it somewhere. Not really unsafe, just annoying if you have the problem frequently and get stuck in Park again somewhere.
But if you could shift into Drive and it failed to "engage" - ya, that's a safety issue for computer control, since that would be EV easily at that initial engage.

Surprised you didn't get a check-engine light on for some failure.
If you had Ford app setup - you might have gotten a notice about the code or issue.

Also - your dealership like many others probably took many days even to touch it to find something out - the time suck is real.

So far just a hit a run - OP has been back but not commented to expand on the info.

So doing what exactly for you - not shifting out of Park, or could do that but not actually move?
Did you have error codes or messages?

Sometimes I miss opening the hood on an inline 6 and seeing more ground than engine! External fuel pump too! $9 for a new one! 🤣 I don’t actually miss it, just not a fan of demonic occurences when modern vehicles experience a glitch! Hell, I thought I needed a new transmission, and all I needed was a ‘proper’ battery instead of the crap they put in the 22’s and 23’s.
