Sync 3 Navigation Map Updates

Update successful. Unfortunately, the end result was a complete let down. I purchased a new home earlier this year, where the neighborhood construction had begun over a year ago. Pre-update, my actual street (and subsequently my actual street address) did not exist in the nav yet. I had to pick the street number of the main road heading into the neighborhood. I was hoping that this update would add the street. It did not. The update is named '2 22' - which I can infer means the update data was finalized Feb 2022. Before my neighborhood construction was started and obviously more than 1.5 years still out of date.

Next update I will definitely make a stink about and will fight for it to be complimentary.

Thanks for the info. Just checked my Sync 3 and navigation as a result of your post. Sync 3 is current for my 23 Maverick Lariat but there is a Navigation map update. No notice in the Ford app, just Ford.com. Wow, hour and half to download!

Yep, I have to bust out a 16GB USB drive and format to exFat, leaving 14.9GB free. I took the gamble and downloaded it: 12.6GB zip in about 7 minutes. Then moved it over to the USB which took about 10 or 12 minutes. Then opened up the garage and turned the Maverick on (running, on). Luckily, hybrids just sit there for most of the ON time. Also, disable the auto-idle thing... mine was on by default. The instructions mention it. Do it.

It did take an hour. Gave me enough time to grab a measuring tape and do some landscape planning.
