Why would anyone buy a small bed unibody truck and then try to extend the bed. I think a hot tub would exceed the weight limit of the bed.

Time and money can do just about anything. Doubling the price of a cheap truck makes no sense.

If I had money I would do some body mods to a Maverick. I would probably also swap in a rwd based 2.3 MT.
