I have sat with for 5-10 minutes or so with AC running. Eventually it starts the ICE.

I have sat idle for an hour or more and have tools to monitor temperatures. Also in Florida and I can tell you that you have nothing to worry about. It will start and stop the engine as necessary to keep the HV battery where it should be. Running the AC will make it cycle the engine more frequently but you don't have anything to worry about because the engine has time to cool down between starts so wont over heat soak the engine bay either. I recommend recirculation turned on when youre just sitting in the heat as it makes it so the AC doesnt have to work as hard. If you are parked, it will chime after 30 minutes to prompt the auto shut down feature, just press okay and it will stay on indefinitely. Could also go into the menu in the steering wheel controls and shut it off manually but it resets back on anything the truck gets power cycled

It will also kick on to maintain the minimum temperature threshold, like, in the winter when it's cold, you may notice the ICE kicks on more often even when you are driving within the limits of the EV stuff.

You can idle until you run out of gas.

Some of my neighbors seem to try and do that warming their cars up in the winter, usually the ones who are trying to save the earth.

They use their nice warm garages for their toys and useless junk that they’ve never unpacked.

Mine sits without the engine running until the hybrid battery state of charge drops to 30%. Then it starts the engine to charge the battery.

It charges with the engine running until the battery reaches 40.65%, which takes exactly two minutes when I'm running the A/C.

23' XLT btw
